Tales of a First-Time Mission Tripper: Seth

Each week from now until we leave for Haiti, a member of our team will be writing a post to give you a glimpse into what it's like to be a teen on a Ten10 mission trip. Some of the teens are veterans, others are first-timers. You will have the opportunity to see some of our hopes, fears, and plans for the days ahead. Our first guest writer is Seth Nellis, a freshman from Clarion. We made him go first because he's the youngest member of the team. (not really.) (sort of.)

Seth's Story

Hi. My name is Seth Nellis, and I am an 8th grader at Clarion Area High School. I am very excited to be a part of this year's mission trip, and I look forward to going to Haiti. However, I also have many fears about going on this trip. For example, I have never flown on a plane before, so flying is a definite fear for me. Also on this trip, we are doing a Vacation Bible School, and I have never done anything like that before, so I am a little nervous about that. Lastly, I am scared about communicating with the kids since I don't know any French Creole, which is the native language in Haiti. In spite of all these fears, I am super excited to go on this mission trip. I can't wait to spend a whole week helping the people in Haiti and bonding with the other members on the team.
